Have I mentioned that being a grown up sucks? In order to register your car where I live you have to pass an E-check. The drive your car in place for two or three minutes with a wand stuck up the tail of your vehicle to ‘test’ the emissions. If you fail this test you cannot register your vehicle. Yours truly, in full procrastination mode, put off getting this done until the day that she had to register said vehicle. I’m sure you can guess where this is going. The damn thing failed. The last time it failed, I changed the oil and it passed. So with a ’stroke of genius’, I had an oil change done and retested it. It failed again. Now I get to go home, and try and find where I put the title (in a ’safe’ place no doubt) to try and get a temporary tag, so I can drive the thing until I can take it to a mechanic to figure out why the hell it isn’t passing. All I got from the guys at the testing center was that the high emissions could be due to the gasses being ‘too hot’. Helpful, no? I want to go back to the days when my only worry was what color crayon to use.

Thank you!
for the birthday wishes
I the Kiss (Lanarte) kit, and an awesome yarn tote from Joann’s! Very nice for keeping sticky little fingers out of my crafts. I also gave up on the stitch bow system and went back to boxes and bobbins. As much as I hate bobbining floss, I like the orginization and setup much much better. That’s pretty much it for right now. School, work, etc and I’m chopping my hair off today so off I go.

Happy birthday to me
bah. I’m not so thrilled with birthdays as I used to be. It’s been a marathon of a semester so far. I hate French with a passion that defies words. Why on Earth do they think it necessary to learn another language? I feel like every semester I lose another chunk of brain matter.
So what’s new since I wrote last? W. got laid off, again. I’m getting used to it. I’m not failing any classes, but I’m not doing as well as I had hoped.
Belinda – I highly recommend The Time Traveller’s Wife and The Thirteenth Tale. Both were very, very good and not at all what I had expected. Right now I’m reading the Lord of the Rings.
I crocheted a blanket as a Christmas present for my mom, and am working on another blanket for my husband. The first was done with Lion brand homespun in Waterfall. My husband’s is one strand each of Prarie and Olive. Very soft, pretty and quick! It’s done with a Q hook, and two strands held together. My mom’s took me about 2 weekends to do.
I may have hooked a couple of coworkers on stitching. I showed them my Villa Mirabilia (in progress) and some pictures of my favorite designers pieces. One lady said she had always wanted to be able to do it. I told her if you can make and x, you can do it. Just start off small, and work your way up. One of the women went out and bought two little Winnie the Pooh ornaments and is going to try it out
Other than that I’m busy, I’m exhausted and I’m counting down the weeks until this semester is over.
